Program Itinerary

The 19 day Living Like a Local experience begins on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, with departure from the United States. Upon arrival on Thursday, October 16, participants are welcomed at Ben-Gurion Airport, meet the J² and Belong teams, and settle into their new homes in Tel Aviv. Friday, October 17, includes a walking tour of the city and a group Shabbat dinner. On Saturday, participants explore current affairs and visit the ANU Museum. Sunday, October 19, kicks off Belong Engagement programming and a volunteering workshop. Monday is free to explore Tel Aviv, and Tuesday dives into post-October 7 Israel, followed by local recommendations. On Wednesday, the group travels to Haifa for a day of learning and volunteering around shared society, and Thursday includes a deep dive into modern Hebrew culture in Neve Tzedek.

Friday and Saturday, October 24–25, are open for Shabbat exploration, with suggestions and support from the concierge. Sunday is a free day to rest and recharge, and Monday features more Belong encounters and cultural experiences. Tuesday, October 28, tackles the tension between Jewish and democratic identity in Israel. Wednesday is another free day to explore, and Thursday includes a Hebrew session before heading north. The October 31–November 1 weekend is spent in the Galilee and Golan, engaging with communities, security experts, and Israel’s landscapes. Participants return to Tel Aviv on Saturday, stopping at Mount Meron, Tzippori, and Druze villages for reflection, learning, and a cooking workshop.

On Sunday, November 2, the journey concludes with a final group meal and heartfelt goodbyes. Participants pack up, reflect on the experience, and return home carrying a deeper connection to Israel.
